The Templates menu is a read-only supplemental library of signs and layouts that ship with OpenRoads SignCAD. For example, the Templates menu for the Texas standard contains submenu items for many of the D, I, and M series signs along with other signs and arrows. Many other standards also have templates provided by the states. Select a sign from the cascading menu and place it on the screen.

The template SGN defines the arrows, text size and font, object spacing and other panel parameters. Once placed in the active file all objects in the sign can be edited. For example, to change the sign legend, double click on the text to bring up the Edit Text dialog. Editing the text will update the panel according to the template settings.
